Jeff Krete has been carving wooden birds and decoys for over forty years. Inspired by a life spent in the outdoors, the art of turning wood into beautifully detailed representations of birds is Jeff’s creative way of sharing the beauty of birds and promoting an overall appreciation of nature. Jeff is skilled in various
forms of bird art including life-size sculpture, miniature bird sculpture and hand carved traditional and contemporary hunting decoys. Jeff also carves mammals and is a skilled aviation artist creating unique one-of-a-kind aviation sculptures in wood and bronze.
Jeff is an award winning wildfowl artist in competitions across Canada and the Unites States of America. He is a five-time World Champion carver and Master Wildfowl Artist recognized by the Ward Foundation, Salisbury, Maryland and a Six-time Canadian National Champion wildfowl carver. Jeff is a published author on the subject of wildfowl carving, teaches the art form locally and with groups across Canada. He has also lectured extensively on the subject in various forums. Jeff’s body of work resides in private collections around the world, has been exhibited at the Ward Museum, Salisbury, Maryland, the New Britain Museum of American Art, New Britain, Connecticut and many private galleries.
